I create ceramics that can be seen, felt, and experienced. Every piece is handmade with time, thought, and true materials.
My name is Matilde, and I’m the creator behind Matilde Riber Ceramics. I fell in love with clay when I attended folk high school, where I finally had the time and space to immerse myself in the fascinating — and beautifully demanding — process of ceramics. Since then, I’ve become deeply devoted to expressing myself through this craft.
My work is driven by a desire to create pieces that bring energy into a space — pieces that can be seen, felt, and experienced. Everything is handmade by me at my dining table, and each piece carries many hours of careful, intentional work.
In a world where we produce more than ever before, it can feel difficult to justify adding anything new. That’s why I work in small batches, creating pieces meant to last for thousands of years. Clay is a material that never truly disappears, and I keep that in mind throughout my process. My hope is to create objects that can be passed down from generation to generation.
All my ceramics are made from stoneware clay, fired at 1260°C and finished with stoneware glazes, making each piece durable, water-safe, and suitable for food use.
Thank you for being here — I hope you find a piece that speaks to you and becomes part of your story.
